All through my wild days, my mad existence ðŸŽ
Londoners are flocking to central London to see the screen star sing ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina’ every night at 9pm
Hello to you,
I was just on BBC Radio 4 6 o’clock news discussing Evita.
It seems everyone is losing their minds amidst the furore surrounding divided audiences over a staging choice where Rachel Zegler sings Don’t Cry For Me Argentina from The London Palladium balcony to passersby, with ticket holders watching via video feed.
Having made headlines and probably selling a tonne of tickets in the process is a win win for director Jamie Lloyd and producer Michael Harrison.
Is this cultural suicide? I conclude that theatre is well worth doing and the secret of knowing what you think is to admit what you feel. Real seriousness is controlled excitement.
Anyway, you can listen below.
